The LIT Advance program is specifically for 14-year olds who have either completed our LIT program or have the maturity to participate. The purpose of the LIT Advance is to further the training with the campers which was started in LIT program and to give them hands on experience in different roles at camp. LITAs are overseen by our Training Director who in addition to planning their schedules with them and running specialized programming, also provides formal and informal feedback in order to develop their skills early on and continually throughout the summer. After receiving a formal evaluation, LITAs set specific goals in order to grow and mature and prepare themselves for the following year where they may be accepted as staff members. Our goal with the program, is to provide leadership training to our 14-year olds and to ensure that they are ready for the responsibilities and expectations associated with being a staff member at CAM. LITAs who are successful in their program and receive strong evaluations are put on a priority hiring list for the following summer. Space in the LITA program is limited to 10-12 participants a session, therefore registrants may not be eligible for multiple sessions. Priority as with most of our programs will be given to early registrants who have completed the registration process.
